Wetaca and Knoweats are the two names that show up in any search for meal delivery in Spain, and every month hundreds of people put them side by side before choosing. We compared them with figures from 21 September 2026 — menu, terms and Trustpilot for each — and the short answer is that they don't compete on the same thing: Wetaca is a weekly subscription for home-style food; Knoweats, a fitness catalogue you buy from whenever you want. What really separates them today isn't price, it's reputation.

Figures from each brand's website and Trustpilot as of 21 September 2026. Knoweats prices are from its catalogue read in July; if they've changed, its full review keeps them current: Knoweats review 2026. Wetaca's is here: Wetaca review 2026.
Real price: which one is cheaper?
Quick answer: Per meal, Wetaca: its mains start at €6.69 versus €7-8.25 at Knoweats. Per order, shipping narrows the gap: Knoweats charges about €8.90 per delivery, and at Wetaca it depends on the area. For ten meals a week you're looking at €67-75 of food at either, plus transport.
An example with their figures: ten Wetaca mains at the base price are €66.90; ten Knoweats meals at €7.50 on average, €75 plus €8.90 shipping, €83.90. In week one Wetaca gives 30% off and Knoweats has its welcome pack, so the first order is useless for comparison: compare the second.
What does change the real cost is the model. At Wetaca you pay every week unless you pause, and your subscription price is the price of your first order; at Knoweats you pay when you order. Whoever forgets to pause pays Wetaca for a week they didn't want; whoever forgets to order has no Knoweats food on Monday. Two different disciplines.

The food: home-style vs fitness
Quick answer: Wetaca cooks home-style food — lasagne, stews, pasta, curries — in single 420-500 g dishes, no preservatives, made to eat well without thinking. Knoweats cooks for people who train: 400-450 g portions with protein, carbs and fat labelled on every dish. If you count macros, Knoweats gives you the number; Wetaca gives you calories and little else.
Both deliver chilled and both keep a week in the fridge (Wetaca says "up to 7 days"; Knoweats, 7-8). Neither freezes. The difference is the criterion the dishes are built on: at Wetaca, home flavour rules; at Knoweats, the goal. A 788 kcal fettuccine with prawns is a Wetaca dish; a chicken-and-rice with 45 g of protein is a Knoweats dish.
Reviews: 1.7 versus 4.4
Quick answer: This is the biggest difference in 2026. Wetaca has a 1.7 out of 5 on Trustpilot with 248 reviews and an unclaimed profile; Knoweats, a 4.4 out of 5 on Trustpilot with 326, up from 2.3 at the start of the year. Wetaca's complaints are about subscription charges, deliveries and customer service; Knoweats' are about the occasional delivery, and they're a minority.
Context so you don't misread it: Wetaca claims 185,000 households and over 2,000 reviews on its own website; at that volume, 248 Trustpilot reviews are the ones from people who went there to complain. But the pattern of those complaints — the subscription charged when you didn't want it — is the risk built into its model, not noise. Knoweats, with fewer customers and one-off orders, doesn't have that front open, and in 2026 it fixed the logistics that sank its score in 2025.
What if you track your macros?
Quick answer: Neither adapts the dish to you. Knoweats tells you how much protein each portion carries; Wetaca doesn't even do that. At both you pick dishes from a catalogue and fit your numbers as best you can. If your goal is specific — cutting, building muscle, a daily protein figure — the missing piece is a dish built with your gram amounts.
That is what Makroa does in Madrid: you calculate your macros with the calculator, pick the week's dishes, they're cooked with your grams of protein, carbs and fat, and they arrive chilled in one delivery. From €8.90 per dish, no subscription. It doesn't compete with Wetaca on home-style food for the whole family, nor with Knoweats on national coverage; it competes on one thing: the dish fitting you. More options in Wetaca alternatives in Madrid.
Verdict: Wetaca or Knoweats depending on who you are
- You want home-style food without thinking and it just arriving every week: Wetaca, with the caveat of pausing before Wednesday when you don't need it.
- You train, watch your protein and don't want to be tied in: Knoweats. Today it's also the better-rated of the two.
- You order for several people with different tastes: Wetaca, for menu variety and large portions.
- A delivery has failed you before and you don't want a repeat: Knoweats, going by each one's 2026 reviews.
- Your macros are specific and you live in Madrid: neither; look at Makroa.
If you're torn, the cheapest test is the first week of each: 30% off at Wetaca and Knoweats' welcome pack. Two orders will tell you more than any comparison, including this one. Figures checked on 21 September 2026; we'll check them again in three months.
