1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store in your browser when you visit them. They remember information about your visit (such as your preferred language), making your next visit easier and the website more useful to you.
Cookies are not viruses or executable programs. They cannot access information on your device or read cookies stored by other websites.
The controller of the data collected through cookies is GESTIÓN CALPE, S.L.U. (trading as Makroa), Tax ID B26641332, registered at c/ Navío 6, 4º A, 03710 Calpe (Alicante), Spain, contact email equipo@makroa.com.
2. Types of cookies
- Essential/technical cookies: necessary for the website to function. No consent required.
- Analytics cookies: measure and analyze user navigation in aggregate. Require prior consent.
- Personalization cookies: remember user preferences (e.g., language).
3. Cookies and storage we use
This covers everything this website may store in your browser: cookies proper, and also browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage), which is not a cookie but does a similar job, so we declare it here too.
First-party cookies
The public side of makroa.com sets no first-party cookies at all. Your language lives in the URL itself (/es or /en), so there is nothing to remember, and your cookie decision is kept in browser storage (see below) rather than in a cookie. The only first-party cookies on the domain are the Supabase session cookies issued when logging in: the one for /admin, Makroa's internal panel, and, once you order, the one for your customer account, listed in the payment and advertising table below. Neither is issued to visitors who only browse the public site.
Third-party analytics cookies (consent required)
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated ID | 2 years | Third-party, persistent |
_ga_* | Google Analytics | Identifies a specific user session in GA4 | 2 years | Third-party, persistent |
_gid | Google Analytics | Distinguishes users within a 24-hour session | 24 hours | Third-party, persistent |
_clck | Microsoft Clarity | Keeps Clarity's pseudonymous user ID so repeat visits map to the same user | Persistent | Set by the Clarity script |
_clsk | Microsoft Clarity | Joins several page views into a single session recording | Session | Set by the Clarity script |
CLID, ANONCHK, MR, MUID, SM | Microsoft | Browser identification and synchronization across Microsoft domains, as part of how Clarity works | Set by Microsoft | Third-party |
Important: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity cookies are only set if you explicitly accept analytics cookies through our consent banner. If you decline, or ignore the banner, neither script even loads.
Payment, customer session and advertising cookies
When you place an order, when you log into your customer account and — only if you accept it — when we measure our Meta campaigns, these cookies may also be set:
| Name | Who | Type | What for | Duration | Consent |
|---|
__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Stripe | Technical (payment fraud prevention) | Make the payment work and detect fraud | 1 year / 30 min | Not required: necessary for the service you asked for |
_fbp, _fbc | Meta | Advertising | Measure Meta Ads campaigns and show you relevant ads | 90 days | Yes: only set if you accept advertising in the banner |
| Customer session cookie/storage | Makroa (Supabase) | Technical | Keep you logged in so you can see and repeat orders | Session / 7 days | Not required |
Browser storage
| Key | Store | Purpose | Duration |
|---|
makroa_gdpr_consent | localStorage | Stores your cookie decision (accept / essentials only) so we don't ask again on every visit. | Until you clear site data in your browser |
mkr_sid | sessionStorage | Anonymous session ID for our own visit measurement (no cookies, no advertising profiles). | Cleared when you close the tab |
mkr_attr | sessionStorage | Details of the first page of your session (UTM parameters, referring site and landing page), so we know which channel brought you here if you end up signing up. | Cleared when you close the tab |
makroa_calc_session | sessionStorage | ID of your macro calculator session, so your calculation can be linked to your signup if you join the waitlist. | Cleared when you close the tab |
makroa_calc_preset | sessionStorage | Your latest calculation (calories and macros), so we can show it again without making you redo the questionnaire. | Cleared when you close the tab or recalculate |
mkr_sid and mkr_attr are created when you open the site, before you answer the banner, and disappear on their own when you close the tab. They are not shared with third parties. For what we do with that measurement afterwards, see our Privacy Policy.
4. Consent
In compliance with the ePrivacy Directive and GDPR, this website asks for your consent before loading anything non-essential. On your first visit a banner appears with two options: Accept cookies, which loads Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity with the cookies listed in section 3, or Essentials only, which loads no analytics tool and sets no cookie at all. Closing the banner counts as the second option. The Meta advertising cookies described in section 3 are part of what you accept with Accept cookies: with Essentials only, the Meta pixel never loads. Stripe's technical cookies and your customer session cookie do not depend on the banner, since they are necessary for payment and for the service you asked for.
5. Managing cookies
You can manage cookies through our banner — or by clearing site data (the makroa_gdpr_consent key) to make it appear again — and through your browser settings. Blocking cookies breaks nothing on the public site, since we set no first-party cookies. If you also block browser storage, the site still works, but the cookie banner will reappear on every visit and the calculator won't remember your last result.

This cookie policy may be updated periodically. We recommend reviewing it regularly. For more information about how we process your personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
